Collective Worship

Collective worship at Rufford lies at the heart of our school life and is a special time when our whole school community comes together. Rooted in our Christian faith, daily collective worship provides moments of reflection, prayer and celebration, helping to shape the caring and respectful ethos of our school.
Our worship is underpinned by clear Christian values such as love, compassion, forgiveness and thankfulness, which guide our actions and relationships both in and beyond the classroom. Collective worship is invitational, offering everyone the opportunity to participate in a way that feels right for them, while encouraging children to think deeply, ask questions and grow spiritually within a supportive and welcoming environment.
Monday: Whole school worship themed around our Christian Values. We have a value that we focus on each half term.
Tuesday: Key Stage Worships linked to our Christian Value or Picture News
Wednesday: Worship led by Father Mark, Father Joe or our youth worker Hattie
Thursday: Key Stage Worships or SUMO
Friday: Shining Stars Worship - parents of our weekly stars are invited here at 3pm.
WWJD:

Each week our classes nominate a WWJD a What Would Jesus Do? This award is given to someone who has shown one of our Christian Values around school. Children can also nominate each other. The winner each week is awarded a certificate and a WWJD band to wear with pride!
SUMO:

We are a SUMO school! We Stop, Understand and Move On. We have regular collective worship time together on the six principles of SUMO. Out children will learn to face challenges calmly and with resilience, solving problems and moving forward.
